ADDICTED - HOODIE - BRICK
PART 9 - CHAPTER 1
My business is struggling, I’m spending the profits without pity, the small amount of cash that I can get out of it I squander on cheap booze, gambling and prostitutes. Unfortunately, I love it. There are less and less clients, and dope is no longer in style, having been replaced by social media, television and excessive advertisement. People don’t even have time for drugs anymore. So sad. So today, I prowl the grounds where the excluded have settled themselves, in the waste ground of the Affenage. This no man’s land where no one dares venture, on the outskirts of the city, is now home to more junkies than Harlem in the 70’s. If there’s anywhere that I can claw a few final clients, this is the place. I pace this dump incognito, to do my business without drawing too much attention to myself. But my semi-clean clothes and full set of teeth soon give me away, and I suddenly become every crack-heads main target, as they all start to crowd in on me. The smell is nauseating, all I can see are scrawny hands grabbing for me and my pockets. I find myself stuck in this swamp of junkies, slowly chocking me, when suddenly, a hand grabs my shoulder.
